Regular Self-Assessment

Beyond monthly supervisions and annual appraisal conversations, continuous improvement relies on foster carers to regularly self-reflect upon their situational judgement calls and participate in team initiatives to assess and balance emerging priorities. This enables course corrections responding to new realities for children.

Intentional Development Planning

Making progress involves reviewing practice with support from Indigo Fostering, balancing skill-building with avoiding overwhelming information.  Sessions led by the agency expands foster carer readiness before elevating responsibilities, while sustaining self-care to prevent burnout from extreme overstretch.  The key is to have continuous, intentional, and structured plans for improvement, rather than sporadic or scattered efforts.
